ABOUT ME

My name is Hanneke Moed. I am a visual writer, artist and mother, inspired by nature, music, and everyday life.

I was born in 1984 into a creative family in the Netherlands and I still live in a “creatively organized” home filled with instruments, tools, and other materials for making things.

We create and amuse ourselves with all sorts of projects, usually focusing on the joy of the process itself. Sometimes the finished results are also wonderful to enjoy: clothing, jewelry, furniture, hand puppets, stuffed animals, keychains, T-shirts, drawings, (art) journals, books and more.

For our most recent project, we collaborated with others to create towering, hand-painted canvases for the Graceland Festival. At times like that, our house feels too small, so—blessed with good weather—we work in the garden or even on the sidewalk next to our home. Creativity is our language; it connects us. We give shape—both literally and figuratively—to feelings, thoughts, ideas, and interests.

The latest book I wrote is titled “Turn it into Art: Quotes & Notes on Courage, Consistency and Creativity”. I created it primarily for myself, as a source of encouragement to keep going—to keep living as an artist of life.

With love,

Hanneke
